Silvia Chirife nació en Rosario en 1958. En 1981 se gradúa de Profesora Nacional de Artes Visuales, especialidad pintura en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Facultad de Humanidades y Artes. Durante 1977 Realizó diversos cursos, entre ellos: Composición y Pintura con Rodolfo Elizalde, 1978 Dibujo con Julián Usandizaga, en 1992 Clínica de obra con Pablo Suarez.
Ha trabajado como docente e investigadora en desde 1984 – 2004 en la Escuela Municipal de Artes Visuales “Manuel Musto” Rosario, Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Facul. de Humanidades y Artes, Rosario 1984 – 2019, y tareas de gestión Extensión en el Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes “Juan B. Castagnino” de Rosario (2004 – 2018).
Formo parte de Artistas Jóvenes se Manifiestan con otros artistas, y Cineastas Jóvenes se Manifiestan, desde 1977 hasta 1982, organizando y exhibiendo sus producciones en diferentes lenguajes, pinturas, cerámicas, fotografía y super 8, en el Centro Cultural Bernardino Rivadavia de Rosario. En 1984 con otros artistas, entre ellos Gabriel Gonzalez Suárez, Daniel García, Graciela Sacco y el historiador Guillermo Fantoni, fundan APA -Artistas Plásticos Asociados- gestionando la exposición 1966/1968 arte de vanguardia en Rosario conjuntamente con una carpeta de múltiples Al Margen.

Silvia Chirife was born in Rosario in 1958. In 1981, she graduated as a National Professor of Visual Arts, specializing in painting, from the School of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts of Rosario. In 1977, she took various courses, including Composition and Painting with Rodolfo Elizalde, Drawing with Julián Usandizaga in 1978, and a Workshop on Artwork with Pablo Suarez in 1992.
She worked as a teacher and researcher from 1984 to 2004 at the Municipal School of Visual Arts «Manuel Musto» in Rosario, and at the School of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts in Rosario from 1984 to 2019. She was also involved in extension activities at the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts «Juan B. Castagnino» in Rosario from 2004 to 2018.
Silvia was part of ‘Young Artists Express Themselves’ and ‘Young Filmmakers Express Themselves’ from 1977 to 1982. They organized and exhibited their productions in various mediums, including paintings, ceramics, photography, and super 8, at the «Bernardino Rivadavia» Cultural Center in Rosario. In 1984, she, along with other artists, including Gabriel Gonzalez Suárez, Daniel García, Graciela Sacco, and historian Guillermo Fantoni, founded «APA – Asociación de Artistas Plásticos», where they managed the exhibition «1966/1968 Avant-Garde Art in Rosario» along with a portfolio titled «Al Margen.»

Castagnino,» «Young Argentine Painting» (1995) in Rouen, France, «Blue Little Suits» (2004) at the Pichincha Multicultural Center, Rosario, «Soccer 5» (2005) at the Argentine Library in Rosario, «10 Women for 10 Words» (2006) at the Alliance Française in Rosario, «The Nature of Women: Rosarian Artists Between 1910 and 2010» (2010) at the OSDE Foundation in Rosario, «Silvia Chirife Exhibition» (2015) at the Municipal School of Plastic Arts «Manuel Musto,» and «Record of a Pause» (2022) at the «Subsuelo» Art Gallery in Rosario.
Among her recognitions, she received the «Fernando Espino Award» (1995) from the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts «Rosa Galisteo de Rodriguez» and the «Third Prize at the Fourth National Super 8 Film Exhibition» (1979).
